Press release
Since as long ago as 1923, the world's top ice hockey teams have been coming to Davos in Switzerland to compete for the winner's trophy donated by tournament founder Dr Carl Spengler. The tournament is held annually between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve in the ice-skating arena in Davos, in the canton of Graubünden. In addition to the host team HC Davos and the ever-present Team Canada, a varying selection of domestic and foreign teams take part each year. Participating in 2010 were Genève-Servette, SKA St. Petersburg, Sparta Prague and Spartak Moscow.

From 2010, Hanhart is serving as the official timekeeper for the eleven games that make up each Spengler Cup Davos tournament. This offers the watch brand, which is based in the Swiss town of Diessenhofen and the German town of Gütenbach, the chance not only to reach the spectators in Davos' usually packed out stadium, but also to attract the attention of ice hockey fans all over the world via live TV broadcasts. This commitment marks the second time the Swiss-German brand, which specialises in instrument watches, has been involved in the world of ice hockey, sponsoring also the team Schlittschuh Club Bern.
